So Jen comes in at the end and blows us all away!
1st – Jen – 267.25%
2st – Sheryl – 41.39%
3rd – Rob – 41.32
Updated spreadsheet is posted here, and can be downloaded from here.
At this point the competition is closed. Thanks for all that competed and enjoy the rest of the summer.
Weighed in last night at 168 pounds (up from 155 at the beginning of June).
13 pounds in 6 weeks!!! And my love handles are noticeably smaller, so it should be mostly muscle gain.
Jen’s final numbers. My password wasn’t working?
3 mile: 34:44
Push ups: 9
Weight: 174 (ooohh, too much ice cream)
All verified by Rob.
So only three of us have posted final numbers as of my writing of this, so I will leave the polls open until the end of day tomorrow to see if anyone else is still competing. As two of those three are me and my wife, only one of these entries actually counts. I think that you may be surprised at the result though.
Great job everyone!
1st – Sheryl – 41.39%
2nd – Rob – 41.19% (just one more sit-up Rob)
3rd – Jason – 21.91%
As always feel free to check my work, as the spreadsheet is posted here, and can be downloaded from here.
I was concerned about running in the heat of Florida as I haven’t really trained in Florida at all this summer. Luckily the rain started after the first mile so that cooled me off.
My final numbers (which are unverified, but that doesn’t matter to me as I’m not really in the running) are:
3 Mile Run – 25:06 – I was hoping to catch Rob, but I just couldn’t pull it out.
Bench Press – 235
Weight – 180
3-mile run: 24:30 (-08:04) [GPS time]
Push-ups: 54 (+23) [verified by Jen]
Sit-ups: 30 (+6) [verified by Jen]
Ran another 5k event this morning (had planned for yesterday morning but got rained out). Didn’t quite reach the sub 8-minute miles yet, but another personal best!! We’ll let the judges decide if this time counts – since it is technically after the deadline – or if I have to stick with my time from the race last weekend.

I am in serious pain… my knees have never felt like this. It would not be the least bit surprising if I can’t walk tomorrow after 8 hours of letting them stiffen up.
Thanks so much, Jason, for pioneering PFC. I’m in the best shape I’ve been in for many, many years! And I’ve caught the running bug and plan to keep going.
Rob
So for those of you that have been waiting for the last moment to get motivated. Your time is here!
Please remember to post your final numbers by the end of next weekend so that the final percentages can be calculated.
The update spreadsheet is located here. I have used best reported numbers to determine the current percentages, but the final winner will be determined based on the numbers posted next weekend.
The current standings page is also up to date with the current winner.
Have a great week and I’m looking forward to Luma!
So I am making a little progress. Just not what I was hoping for, but I can’t really be disappointed as I haven’t really put in the effort.
Body Weight – 185
3 Mile Run – 27:37
Bench Press – ? – Haven’t been near a gym in over a month!
3-mile run: 25:15 (-07:19)
Push-ups: 50 (+19)
Sit-ups: 30 (+6)
Ran my first official event this morning – the 5K Hungry Duck Race (to benefit a local food bank) in Brighton Michigan where I spent some of my early years as a kid. Despite the frigid cold (60 degrees at 7:00 am:) I felt great and had another personal best time. I forgot to look at the clock at the end of the race, so I’ll have to wait until they post the numbers online, but my GPS said I averaged 8:25 minute miles over the course of the race, so that would be a 25:15 for the 3 mile.
Ran with Jason at Higgins Lake last weekend and did a 26:34 (8:51 miles), so I was aiming for 8:30 miles today. I was just hoping to beat 9 minute miles by the end of PFC, but I think I’ll make one last push this week and try to break the 8 minute mark by next weekend.
Higgins Lake is by a very large margin the nicest lake I’ve ever been to. Water looks remarkably like the ocean.
Happy Independence Day!
Rob
